  1. I am leaning towards a engine harness issue with the type of concerns you are having with it. I have had one very pretty close to the same concerns. Very random no start issue and every time it would get towed in it would fire right up. After several attempts to duplicate and a couple road calls to the customers house to look at it I finally caught it long enough to verify the loss of sync due to a circuit issue on the cam sensor circuit. Replaced the engine harness and all was well
  2. 500bucks a year now to keep full IDS function
  3. As sick as that would be Ill pass. I dont wanna blow up the drivetrain on a full throttle assault on a water fall
  4. mine did that crap too until after they updated the PTS site and now it seems to have fixed itself without any changes from me
  5. beat me too it. I instantly knew what that was from the pic.
  6. That bugs me. And they wonder why snyc is full of bugs all the time. Microsoft can go suck a fat nut IMO
  7. EXACTLY! This is what baffles me on fords answer that those small cracks are acceptable. I mean really? Its not going to get bigger?
  8. I have had that on lots of 6.0s and several 6.4 engines. I got heads each and every time no matter what the hotline response was. I had to argue with them a few times both over email and on the phone before they would say "replace" the head. cracks in cylinder heads no matter how small are unacceptable in my book
  9. We need a cut. First ask what country they are going to and mark them up 200% or more for "handling charges"
  10. 70k for a used truck? Ill sell mine for that!

Axles are a Ford HP front 60 with Reid knuckles, RCV CV shafts, detroit locker and 5.13 gears. Rear is a 14bolt with a detroit Tires are a 40" goodyear MTR comp compound so hopefully it will climb upside down if I so desire. Building it to go a little fast too
  15. I already need a bigger garage or a real shop to work in!! It fits better then my old rig believe it or not. Looks bigger then it is
  16. I had one of those core support chafes early on 6.4 days kick my ass for 2 days!! That was a sigh of relief when I found it
  17. yup I have had several of these as well. I always get reminded of them when I get a 6.0 with the fan harness all chewed up and blowing fuses causing no starts
  18. Here is AZ average is about $25hr for a senior master with diesel cert,ASE and experience. My last dealer I was at $29 which was above normal but we did alot of HD work(cat, cummins, etc)
  19. I have lost most if not all my faith in the hotline. Its sad but it has seriously become a dog and pony show which little to no help when you get them involved
  20. I remember a couple years back my dealer was trying to pull that bs as well. They where having alot of claims kicked due to lack of supporting docs from the tech. Instead of trying to educate the guys in how the warranty system worked they pulled out their big stick and wanted to hold everyone's hours until the job got paid for. There was such a uprising it wasn't even funny which made them think twice about such a retarded idea.....
  21. Been there done that keith. You want to follow the warranty guidelines and not over repair the thing but knowing how much you will take it in the shorts if you dont just slap that stc fitting in while your there is a hard thing to swallow. It seemed I would do this more times then not because if I didnt it never failed it would either take a dump on me during a roadtest thrashing or 2 weeks later on the customer and I would still look like the dickbag that couldnt fix a sandwich
  22. Yes and no. Yes people are willing to work but how many of those people have no other option and a shitty paying job is better then no paying job? On the other hand I think alot of business or dealerships for that matter have lost the mentality of taking care of their techs. It has become a revolving door in the shop with guys coming and going every couple years. They see it as we can just find another guy willing to work here and put up with our shit until they get fed up with it and leave. I really think this industry has lost its way with customer satisfaction. The customer drives our business and no one else. Its starts with the customer and ends with the customer. However with the way the system works it drives the employees to focus on looking out for themselves and not the customer. If a dealership was willing to take care of their techs/employees, pay them a rightful wage for their skill, and support them in day to day operations then you would see a great increase in customer satisfaction. With that said we cant blame just the dealers, alot of times as we all know ford gets us by the balls too....
  23. did that and it was fine. Now all of a sudden it gives me fits. Its fine up until I try to enter a vin number then it freaks out and force quits.
