  1. Well, the first two motors I pulled out at my new shop, I got told the cherry picker wouldn't lift a 6.0 (First one being the "Find The Standpipe" motor, the second being a 2006 6.0 for a bedplate gasket that turned into a fucking SHIT SHOW, because I noticed the EGR cooler was leaking once I got it apart, and do you think the 3C3Z-6A642-CA was available? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Three weeks that prick tied my spare bay up.) SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo. Cab comes off, and the lift truck gets used to pull the motor out. (The first one I wheeled the chassis outside, and the steering turned slightly, so it was a real pain in the testicles to get the cab/chassis alignment right again. Last one, I tried to use the "busted" cherry picker, which works AWESOME, except it's a folding one an on of he pins doesn't line up properly, so I had to install the pin using the variable rate swing press. In other news - During the re-install, my hand slipped on the pressure release on the hydraulic portion of the picker, so the engine fell rather quickly. It hit the frame, slid back, and THUMP. the bellhousing went onto the dowels, the converter studs went through the flywheel, and the mounts fell into the mounting holes in the frame. Myself an my helper just stood there and stared at each other in disbelief. I went and bought a lotto ticket. Won a free ticket, too
  2. My wife has a Contour. (She just stepped up to a 2006 Escape) In 6 years, I've put a water pump, and a timing belt on it. Brakes ONCE, like four years ago. Awesome little car. I'm going to fix it up (needs a little exhaust work) and use it as my daily driver.
  3. I think, as I was wheeling around my first Econoline 6.0 at my new job (Made it almost two months having not worked on an E-van, and yesterday I get an E-550 (7.3) high cube and today an E-450), I saw one of these on the auto transport. I'm not sure if we ended up with it or not. What an ugly piece of shit this transient is. Gonna have to turn the impact down from '5' to do up the wheelnuts on this shitbox.
  4. If I recall rightly, the one at the last shop I worked at didn't have the little tin clip on it, either. I've just made my own, and two others for other guys that do a little diesel work at my current shop, and I've got parts to make one more. (Can you tell I changed an under valve cover harness this week? LOL)
  5. Oh joy, oh rapture. 13k miles out of diesel engine warranty. Wonder what the customer thinks about this little gem?
  6. Wonder what the EOT goes to when you're hauling or beating on it with no cooler.
  7. I like mild or medium wings, and if we're drinking draft, Blue will do. Gibson's finest is my whiskey of choice
  8. We've done about 4 or 5 of these in the last month or so. 4.6 2v's, all of 'em. On edit: I believe one of 'em was a 2V 5.4L
  9. Heads in cab sucks... My big ass doesn't like working over fenders or over a radiator. I pull the cab to pull out motors, but for a much more different and frightening reason.
  10. Yeah, and the fitting actually lines up with the branch tube with the new bracket. That old bracket/tool thing was a piece of SHIT.
  11. There is an oil cooler relocation kit I have seen in a couple of rags (One of which I don't read anymore due to the instruction "After you've installed the studs in your 6.0, wipe off the head gasket and reinstall it") but I have not really been able to find a great deal of information on it.
  12. You could prolly send it to my buddy bewbz, Let me get ahold of him and check it ou.
  13. At any rate - the stock GM LT1 crank is a pretty nice piece, fairly stout, too. I have a buddy that's into the 11's on a junkyard LT1 shortblock in a 4400lb car.
  14. Was looking for some LT1 stuff on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corvette%2FCamaro-LT1-350-Engine%2FMotor-SHORT-BLOCK-420HP_W0QQitemZ320387021637QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090622?IMSfp=TL090622146005r28514 Found this. Explain to me how a shortblock without a cam will make 420hp. Why would you put cast pistons in a high-perf rebuild when the factory offerings are hypereutectic or forged, depending on what motor you got? Then I saw who the seller was....
  15. Email them to big_angry_hillbilly@yahoo.ca and I will put them in my Photobucket and link them here.
  16. Bookmarked. You work tomorrow, Larry?
  17. It'll run long enough without a fuel pump to pound all the fucking injectors out of an 6.0 econoline.
  18. Agreed on Beercon. However, A coke with a belt of Gibson's Finest added to it would get things rolling quite nicely. As a matter of fact....chug-a-lug!
  19. Put a slice of cheese on that and give it a light grill on both sides.
  20. Ask Jim or the other guys on this board who've met me. You can tell I seldom miss a meal, and NEVER if there's bacon involved.
  21. "All I said was CANADIAN BEER SUCKS!" - John Candy, Canadian Bacon, 1995.
  22. Canada An individual slice of bacon is a slice or strip. In Canada: * The term bacon on its own refers generically to strip bacon from the belly meat of the pig, which is the most popular type of bacon sold in Canada.[citation needed] * The term back bacon is used interchangeably to describe either smoked or unsmoked back bacon. * The term peameal bacon is a variety of unsmoked back bacon which historically was brined and rolled in a meal made from ground yellow peas. Today, fine cornmeal is more commonly used as a coating. * Canadians do not use the term "Canadian Bacon".[citation needed] snip and paste from WIKI I've always thought of it as back bacon, or the peameal style as described above.
