  1. What's really funny is the chipped and deleted trucks that use calibrations based on very early factory cals. I did a turbo on a truck that had no dpf or egr on it, and an H&S tuner, from what I could tell by the firmware date, was a very early tuner. (Early tuners display "RACE" options, late tuners display "HIGH SULFUR" options) I pulled that bitch out into traffic and thought the driveshaft fell out of it, it was so lazy. It rolled ahead, plunked into second gear, and took off like someone had run into the back of it. The only way it was driveable was when it was set on "kill" on the tuner. I wound up driving it on "no power, delete only" tuning because it was kind of dirty on the high power tunes. But holy christ was it ever a dog.
  2. Anyone have any idea why Ford Racing no longer offers the 514/521 cubic inch crate engines? Or any big block crate engine, for that matter? I'm looking to put a Mustang (or Fairlane Thunderbolt replica, haven't made final decision - but if it's a thunderbolt - it HAS to have a big block) drag car together, and I'd like to put a big block in it. And as I remember, $10k for 580 horse naturally aspirated wasn't a bad shake, especially with a 2yr warranty. I suppose I can look elsewhere for a crate engine, but ideally, Ford Racing stuff used to be the best bang for the buck and the quality is pretty good as well. Not to mention, it's backed by Ford, not "Joes Racing Engines". Any ideas? I'd like to avoid using a mod motor. This wil not be a street car, and will likely have a dominator carb on it, so streetability/driveability is not much of a concern.
  3. If mine ever bitched the bump stick it would be getting an aftermarket one, I think. But at that point, I'd be going through the motor anyhow due to the shrapnel that would likely be everywhere.
  4. It seems I was told by someone (I think at hotline) it has something to do with the intake design. I know if you look at oil stains from CCV on a non-EGR equipped truck, it blows it all down that bank, so I can only imagine liquid doing the same.
  5. 95 degrees with 80'percent humidity today.
  6. I'll take "short rods from liquid doesn't compress" for 1000 Alex Typically EGR failure.
  7. Nope. Still struggling away in the heat.
  8. Real real hot here. 110 with humidity. Slow going today, for sure.
  9. Which means its gonna blow bitchin reverse donuts.
  10. I don't get to work on 'em anymore... just my own and the odd barney job.
  11. Keith, are you using a bottoming tap, or a starting tap?
  12. Wow. That's probably the ugliest vehicle I have ever laid eyes on. As for the manufacturer, here's the definition: dodge /däj/ Verb Avoid (someone or something) by a sudden quick movement.
  13. I like my 6.4 a lot. Never caused me a stitch of issues. Just put front pads on it at 182,000KM.

    Avatars?

How come sometimes you see "Captain Obvious" under my name or "Fire Marshal" under Brad's, but not others?
  15. 18 inch steels factory. I'm having trouble locating a winter tire for those, I want to do the same thing. I may just run BFG All Terrains in the winter and the good years in the summer. Check out "big mikes truck stuff", they do a ton of takeoff stuff. Maybe you can get some '13 20's. yours is 05+ right?

    Avatars?

I believe it to be a bug in the new software. Keith, get me in touch with technical support. LOL
  17. I got those for a smoking deal. Buddy of mine had them, new tires on them. $1000. Only downside was they were off a Job 1 truck so I had to turn my TPMS off, but no big thing. I didn't want to put the sensors from my wheels in them because my buddy had just spent a pile of cash on them getting them all road-force balanced before I picked them up.
  18. Seems mine changed on its own...
  19. Careful there Mike, I roll on 20's now. LOL
  20. I am about 90 minutes from Burlington give or take, if you need a hand or anything.
  21. I need a Yukon plate for my wall here, if'n you can score me an extra one. Post pics of your rig with the shed built on the back!
