  1. Congrats! Good luck! How far south in Ontario are you going?
  2. I did one with 44's on it. It wasn't quite that bad, but it sucked. I'd be popping the coil springs out of that mobile weenie extension to work on it.
  3. Me either. The wife has it in her car, she paid for a couple year subscription a while back before it was only month-to-month and ridiculous expensive.
  4. Whatcha got for base oil pressure on that animal on startup? Crank end play? Wasn't there someone on here having some messed up mod motor issues and it came down to low oil pressure or something? I'm reaching here but can't quite put my finger on the original thread.
  5. I used to like 40's on 4. Radio classics is a good one too.
  6. They said 300 labor, I wouldn't think you would be much more than 3 hours book time less rusty fasteners depending on where you are located.
  7. If the specs are that close, I wouldn't say it's worth the trouble IMO.
  8. Wow what a pain in the ass. And I also remember those converter meltdowns.
  9. Oh, I agree. It will get you through one tailpipe test. That being said, as long as it completes the monitor now - it passes. We have gone to OBD2 plug in, everything OBD compliant. Everything 88-96 is two speed idle now.
  10. Most shops around here used to be $150 installed for a universal cat, for most cars.

    6.4L Debacle

Wasn't my choice. I don't buy or use their products in my own personal stuff.
  12. Calgary is a mess at the moment, and the surrounding area.
  13. Been there done that, that's scary as hell. As for the glue, use 3M body shop panel adhesive. It's a binary liquid, like epoxy but after 3 minute clamp time, that shit isn't going ANYWHERE.
  14. Sweet deal. It makes me laugh when people buy a factory hot rod and the performance updates cause NVH, then there's complaints about it. LOL I still can't get over guys with the 13's that need to upgrade past 662HP... Or the fact that the factory driveline & clutch can hack it at 850 wheel horsepower.
  15. I remember Dave Young telling us about liquid cooled alternators when we were at Service School, but I forget on what vehicle. Likely something European. Anyone know what that guy's up to now?
  16. The first cab and chassis I drove when the 6.7 hit the streets, I thought it was broken right off the truck it seemed so lazy. Comparison to a like unit showed the same characteristics. I'm not all that overjoyed with the pickup leaving a stoplight, either. First gear feels like 4-Low, then someone clicks it back into 2WD and the power comes on.
  17. Gonna come down Windsor way in a weekend or two, you wanna get together for dinner or something? I might bring the Malibu, if the weather isn't as fucking brutal hot as it was this weekend. Not that the car overheats, but the driver sure does!
  18. I've plugged a few of those passages at the customer's request, especially when it's been a previous failure. Use a bottoming tap, thread the hole down to the plug, and thread a pipe plug into it with red loctite.
  19. I thought there was supposed to be a warning, "PULL OVER SAFELY", then a slight delay, then it would ding at you, then it started flashing the interior dome light, and started counting down from 30 on the dash. I thought there was a NHTSA standard that prohibited anything from shutting down the vehicle, aside from total mechanical failure.
  20. I imagine watery fuel is going to be a much larger problem in the very near future with all the flooding.
  21. The electric lettuce will help with the appetite. One of the main reasons I don't bother with the shit anymore. I tried it when my back was all buggered up, but it would just make me eat everything in sight (opiates kill the appetite), and then fall asleep on the couch in a fucked up position that caused me more pain than I was when I started. How are you healing up, Jim?
  22. Pulled a 4R70W today. Out of a 68 Dodge, with a 5.7 Hemi in it.
  23. That ain't good Jim! Do they think it will be back to normal when you're better? It hasn't soured your flavor for whiskey, has it?!
