  1. 2012 F550 typical turbo failure. 2006 outside on charger, customer blanked out the PCM with a tuner...Back to stock now. 2014 F350 with intermittent idle surge, tuned and deleted...this thing never acts up for me, but as soon as the owner comes in to get it, it acts up. I told him he needs to stay with the vehicle until I fix it...It had a dirty MAF, apparently that wasn't the issue. He was a little pissed because the advisor told him it was fixed, I told the advisor this was a hunch because It wasn't acting up and that was all I could find. Also need to pull the belt off to find the noisy pulley.
  2. If you are not in need of a DVD drive, you should look into a Chromebook. Inexpensive and versatile. Here in Alberta the students use Google classroom, in class and at home. Check out Costco too, if you are a member. You shouldn't have to pay more than $500 for what you say you will use it for.
  3. Changing a turbo on a 2015 and had to order up all the new parts. None of which are readily available.
  4. 2006 F350-injector stuck open and wrecked the engine. Waiting on approval. 2015 F350 with an aftermarket air filter, dirty MAF sensor, complaining of fuel mileage issues and surging at idle... 2014 reductant line heater open.
  5. I had one that had the DEF injector stuck closed code and ran the cleaning tool. Code never came back.
  6. I just might finally get that gaming laptop I've always wanted....just to run IDS..
  7. DON'T JUDGE ME.. Egr cooler delete on a 2009. Customer also wants me to put a toggle in line with signal return on the EBP, he had the EBP sensor go funky on him once and the fuel consumption almost halved, the lack of boost was tolerable he said. He wants to see if he can recreate it when he runs the highway empty.
  8. The new internally lubed turbo's on the 2016 6.7L has a different turbo to pedestal gasket to accommodate the internal oil passage. Parts listings here are messed up for F250/350. DO NOT use hardware kit 9T514 on the new designs. The correct gaskets need to be ordered separately and are found in the F450 listings currently. I inadvertently installed the wrong gasket and the turbo lasted just long enough to pass my roadtest then seized up after the customer took it. The correct gasket is HC3Z-6587-A.
  9. Posted on the PTS message board: 2017 F450: Just giving a heads up, had a unit here 6000km's check engine light and went into reduced power mode. p1291 - Injector high side short to ground or batt (Bank 1). 2 wires rubbed through for #4 injector in the main harness on the edge of the EGR cooler about 6 inches down from pcm connector C1232e. The harness plastic retainer pulls the harness tight against the EGR cooler, causing it to chafe. Going to be other wiring issues caused by this.
  10. All fixed. Read through the complete install and it led me to checking factory wiring and it needs 2 starter wire outputs. Just needed to move the 5th relay option jumper over to 2nd starter. Thanks Buddy_M.
  11. 2016 F350 P259F getting a turbo 2011 F550 oil leak at vacuum pump and 16B24
  12. I only have the Quick install guide and owners manual. It's a prostart CT4311TW. Thanks for helping.
  13. I replaced the remote start in a 2004 Nissan Ultima today. Simple install because the old remote starter was same brand and it was a simple module and antenna swap. Everything works, except the starter stays engaged when the engine starts. The instructions are vague at best and the company encourages a professional installer do the work. No DYI customer support on weekends. It is supposed to have a virtual tach system to control starter engagement, that doesn't seem to be working. Anyone with experience that can throw in some advice? The only thing I can think of is the tach sense wire is not required on automatics, but it doesn't say it must not be connected. I am not sure if the tach signal used for the old module is messing with the new one. No longer have access to car till tomorrow so I didn't try cutting the tach wire yet.
  14. 2014 with EGT 11 and 12. 2015 with P04DB and P259F
  15. And the cap tightened...I very much dislike messes, especially filthy diesel oil. I will say the worst mess I made was during my first experience with a 6.4 turbo oil seal leaking...Yeah bad idea to rev it up....I was outside my almost brand new shop, the wind was not in my favor & that filthy POS sprayed oil all over 2 sides of my 18 foot side walls...I wanted to scream ...I got a customer that does commercial power washing to come out & clean it. He had to use his heavy duty cleaner & a brush. My recently retired counterpart did something similar. He oil bathed 2 rows of customer vehicles.
  16. In a very short period of time, it is possible to pump 8 litres of oil out of a 6.4L when you forget to put the oil filter back in....
  17. What exactly is the repair? I can't find on our site yet.
  18. My 2009 had 34 litres in the crankcase. Drained some oil out of the CAC. The DPF is no-where close to being plugged. Cleared the codes and the wrench light, the drive to clean is gone as well. Wonder how the tire shop figured the delete and tune would fix a leaking injector?
  19. Now that you brought that idea to the table...You know that it's going to happen right? It's going to bounce around the universe until it hits some engineer at Ford in the head and then all hell will break loose.
  20. Under valve cover harnesses on the cleanest 2002 F350 7.3L that I have ever seen. 09 F550 Oil overfull, 2 cylinder contribution codes, Drive to clean exhaust message in cluster. Tire shop quoted a DPF delete and tuner. The 06 F450 I changed the front cover on for the blown up oil pump is back. They want to change the turbo now too.
  21. So.....I swapped out the tank from the other unit. High duty cycle, but it passes. Hotline wanted me to run leak test with line disconnected to see if it was air locked. Doing so dropped the duty cycle down to 18%, then back up to 49% with the line connected. Funny thing now is the truck thinks the tank is empty. Ran refill activation twice and drove the truck. No change. Time to start a thread in 6.7L section on this one. Gonna be some fun times coming. Latest response from Hotline is to replace both the tank and the pump. Fill the tank, perform refill activation, and all SCR parameter resets, disconnect batteries for 10 minutes, then touch positive and negative cables together to reset module logic.
  22. 2017 F350 King Ranch 6.7L 2100 KM's. P20E8. $110,000 truck and the DEF pump doesn't work. Pumps are on back order. Swapped tanks with another unit to get the customer going. Real easy to get the tank out too.
  23. 5. Service advisors that: 1: Can work together to properly book in work. 2: Not fight with each other over who's work gets in first. 3: Won't sneak behind the other's backs to get their work in first. 4: Don't play favorites regarding who gets all the good work.
