  1. That happed here with our company. A group tried and got shut down very quicky. my self personally I am very anti union
  2. I have a 1/4" snapon ratchet with a female head on it for bits. Its magnetic and works perfecty
  3. isnt that the same company that recently got Pee-Pee spanked by EPA for selling deletes and programmers?
  4. oh how I do not miss working on E-vans! I actually have empty stalls currently(A first for a long time), but no lack of work.
  5. That always bugs me, It would be nice to get a little more info on exactly what is being changed to know if its actually going to help with the customers concerns or not. I think Ill hold off on programming mine to see what kind of results the recall provides, Always my fear that the "updated improvements" will make it worse rather then better. It is interesting its going all the way back to Job 1 2011 which is what I own. In 110k miles Ive never had a exhaust sensor issue.
  6. Partial cab lifts are the ticket. Even more so on the trucks I have here with service beds on them that making lifting the cab completly a huge pain. I feel for you guys with rusty everything, that has to be miserable!
  7. Wow, I hope that does not come back to bite ya in the ass
  8. Ive worked at a shop like this in the past. I had to flat out refuse the jobs to get the right tools. Lucky I was not the only one in the shop that felt that way and with a group effort of refusing to work on the vehilces without the proper stufft we got what we needed. Im talking basic things like jacks, engine hoists, engine stands etc. Most of my common diag tools I simply bought myself so I didnt have to go on a hunt to find them
  9. Kill it with fire! I really dislike working on these. We have far too many in our fleet and I cant wait until they all die or get auctioned! dmax in a pickup not too bad, dmax in a kodiak With that said most of my issues tend to be wiring related, injectors and fuel pumps are pretty common too.
  10. remember back in 2010 when these came out? All the C&C had the DEF on the outside of the frame rails then they released a meassage about swapping it all to the inboard side if tge frame as 90% of the bodies out there had not room between the box and frame to accomidate the DEF tank. I have not seen a outboard DEF tank since then I have never seen a midship only tank on a 450-550 or even a dual tank setup for that matter. I do not recall the option on a F550(just ordered 6 of them recently) I wonder if the 450s are somewhat different as far as options go?
  11. same here, lots of our trucks tend to do that once setting overnight. My personal truck does this as well and its a Job1 2011. Never had a coolant concern so I have not attempted repair on any of them yet
  12. 99 F150 heater core which requires a dash pull
  13. Just noticed this change the other day. There has always been a waring at login but this one is a bit different.
  14. Same here. New car prices suck balls and they are sky rocketing every year. About the only thing I can afford is a new fusion however I dont even want to drop 30k on one and almost just rather keep driving what we have instead. Not having the D-plan kinda blows too but at least I still have good contacts and buying power through my currenty employer. The used market isnt much better when I was shopping for a 2011+ F250 and then money they where asking for them was insane. You would be better off with a new one after you get done with the bs used ones. The other big problem with the used market is people cant take care of a vehicle for shit and they end up being money pits to the new owners. I wonder how long we have until we see a crash like we did in the housing markets? Eventally this endless financing on a 80k truck is going to come to a halt. Im betting on the next Gen superduty being damn close to 100k for a platiumn trim
  15. superduty gears in general have been pretty damn good. I tend to repace them around 200-250k miles due to being sloppy but they are not undrivable
  16. I get these all the time from installing liftgates however I am currently out of superduty ones. Check with your local body builder shops and see if they have any as they typically take them off for liftgate or body installs.
  17. I always like to wait a bit to update, if possible Ill wait until they do the first patch to make sure I do not have any issues. Advantage is I have the ability to wait as Im not working on brand new stuff everyday.
  18. I had that in the past too, I had a pretty good method to shut them up. I would intentionally rev a smoky bastard multiple times to fill the shop once they started bitching. They figured it out real quick just to keep their mouth shut when I was working on a diesel. or maybe I was just being a dick!
  19. interesting find. The SJB must have a internal circuit that pass through that taxi fuse If we had state inspections here in AZ we would loose 50% or more of our cars on the road!. Maybe its not a bad thing!
  20. This is exactly my point. Its a size offered by ford on the same line of vehicle but because it was not "ordered and built" with that particular size they will not let you program to that size. Also what happens when a particular tire size is no longer available? or if we want to get more critical what happens when you can not buy the exact same brand and size tire as it was built with? If you look at revolutions per mile for each brand of tire it can vary greatly even if its the exact same size. An example would be BFGs, they are known to be smaller then a comparable tire in the same size.... Same here and there is probably some retarded rule out there that makes it far more costly to give us the flexibility to change tire size then its worth
  21. But its all programming.......It would be smart for ford to allow programming changes for something like tires, backup camera, power telescope mirrors etc. I am not saying support a huge tire but at least make the options available for like vehicles built. Customers are are going to end up doing it anyway via the aftermarket. Then you can have aftermarket headaches to sort through afterwords anyway so why not allow us to do it correctly? Lets face it people are not going to leave their vehicles alone any time soon. They never have and never will leave them alone. One thing that does erk me about ford is everything is always different and very specific to the vehicle its on. Not really related but Ill tell it anyway....On my rockcrawler one thing I thought was amazing was taking a 1986 toyota pickup with a 22re engine and bolting in a 2001 Tacoma 4 cylinder with minimal effort! I had to change some wiring around a bit and swap a bell housing but all in all it was like 4 wires to hook up to the 1986 stuff. 15year spread motor swap with little to no effort to do so! I would not have been able to do that with a ford.
  22. Figure out a way to measure coolant pressure while driving for headgasket diag. There are several good methods rocker arm tool, not used often but comes in handy when you need it. Front and rear crank seal installers/wear sleeve removers I like to keep a known good VGT, IPR, ficm etc around if possible for those shortcut diag methods A big enough hoist to yank out a engine if need be
  23. Nah we will still have a diesel engine powering the electric motors. Kinda like a train
