  1. Check the t-stat, maybe the disc is broken on the back of it or something is lodged in it. Also With the engine running pull the degass hose that comes up from the oil cooler and see what there is for flow.
  2. Quote: Worked in a shop where water would freeze on the floor on a cold winter night. When did you work in my shop? haha We keep the t-stat at 58`f in our shop (unless some goof cranks it up) Our shop is 4 bays, roughly 100 years old, has as many air leaks as a cheese grater, and a little bit of sawdust insulation. If its colder than -15`c outside our used oil furnace runs 24 hours a day, never shuts down.(the heater is about 8 years old and has 15,000hrs on it) If it hits -25`c the inside temp is usually about 5`c. We burn about 10,000 liters of used oil each year.
  3. There are pics in photo post (a ways back) of the 6.4 I had with a hole torched in a piston and almost thru the cylinder wall from a bad injector.
  4. Does the truck have a leveling kit (2" or 3" coil spacers) installed? I have seen a few with a leveling kit that repeatedly pop the lh sway bar bushing out.
  5. We've been running them to the lf fender for a while now. Ford was even paying for it until the "fresh air kit" came out.
  6. I wonder why he went so easy? not like he had to worry about scratching it!
  7. Last one I had do that had over 30 before 2000 rpm. I think it was around 12 at idle. Had a big hole in one of the pistons.
  8. I gave up on the quick dissconects, I remove the rubber line at the ota cooler and the bottom of the rad.
  9. Injectors are a problem on these engines. If you call gm they will tell you to do all 8, and they are not at all cheap.
  10. Funny how nobody sees the word additive?, just check coolant.
  11. 08 6.4l, cavitated front cover, 12+Liters of coolant in oil, plugged oil cooler, 4 spun cage nuts.....
  12. We are what we eat, so you should quit being a dick. (You can sub in alot of words for dick)
  13. A few of the one ive had are older guys. (that dont like change) Others just feel the need to complain about something...
  14. Had another one today. On the bright side most of them seem to be getting decent fuel economy since the 11b23 flash. Not sure if they changed any dpf operation or found a way to make them run cleaner. Could be 5 or 6 months of summer fuel as well....
  15. Just changed one today, cracked at the braket.
  16. Has anybody else been having complaints of "my truck doesnt regen any more", since the last flash? I have had 3 this week. The one I scanned today showed dist regen request as 897km and dist regn complete as 894km. Tailpipe was clean.DPF showed part loaded. I thought those #s are pretty stellar? The dash showed avg evonomy as 16L/100km,(17-18 mpg) which I thought was also decent for one of these.
  17. I put a heli coil in the rh side of a 6.4. Seems to be holding up good. Heli coils are a stronger thread than a lot of machined threads!
  18. I lubed them with diesel fuel, Maybe engine oil will hang on better. I also agree that 18ft/lbs doesnt feel right, maybe thats the main problem? I am assuming you guys are leaving the fuel coolers in place and removing the coolant lines to lift the cab? I always remove the fuel and vgt coolers as a unit and set them on the inner fender.(to avoid opening the coolant system) I wanted to pressure up the system when the cab was up, but couldn't figure out a way to seal the fuel lines. On a side note, the spare hp oil pump plugs that come with a 6.0l stc fitting kit work perfect to seal the fuel banjo fitting holes on the fuel cooler.
  19. Has anybody discovered a way to make the viton seals not leak on the two low pressure banjo fittings at the hp pump? I have had 2 leak on me now, First one I caught before assembly as it was dripping from gravity, second one was on friday, fully reassembled and running with fuel dripping off trans. The lines were not crushed, all sealing surfaces were flat and clean, wsm instructions and torque spec were followed. Both times I replaced them with copper and were all good after.
