  1. under the hood should be a bundle of wires folded in and insulated. I think it's the purple and black(if I'm not mistaken-posting at home or I'd take a look). Then you connect it to key on power-preferbly fused. After do a koer test-even if you got high idle if it's the wrong wire I believe the test will abort and throw a code-forgot wich one but it happened to me once. The pcm will adjust the rpm based on the load.

    What is this part?

I think I know why we got it. We ordered some fuel pressure regulators for 6.0 and they gave us that. This dealer is a lot better than the last one we were using but they still make some mistakes from time to time.

    What is this part?

We got this part with a delivery last week- 3c2z-9c968-aa Motorcraft cm-5070 Fuel pressure regulator. Fuel pressure regulator for what
  4. ok got you-the cups will start to drip coolant as the engine cools. So far i have only seen deisel and coolant mixing concerns on these. Just wrenching on powerstrokes a few years. But i put the unit back in service for now, it's been sitting since friday and has not been started, it started up fine for me just before without smoke. I left a note for the crew to notify us of any extremly hard starts, also left instructions for them to wait for the wait to start lamp to go out and then let the engine warm up for 15 minutes or so. Eventually we will get it back in and tear it apart and see. This unit has just over 80k on it but since it was a 911 unit a few years ago it problobly has over 200k with all those idle hours.
  5. Possibl eroded waterpump impeler, coolong system cap, cooling system not holding pressure.
  6. I've been bugging my boss for a deisel compression guage set for a good while, now he's sold. Were going to get 6.0, 7.3 and 6.6 duramax adapters-we NEED THEM ALL. Yea I was kind of thinking more of a lower end issue. I just figured I'd through an injector in a dusty box at it and see what occurs, the cup looks fine.
  7. 03 e-350 blows white smoke from the hard starting and blows white smoke from the tailpipe only on cold starts, runs rough and smoooths out a little as it warms up. Only code is cyl. contibution ballance for #6. Fuel quaility is good, new filter and the tank is clean. No compression guage for this so i cant check compression. Also pull fuel plugs at rearof heads to check fuel color and the fuel is clean. Perdel readings on cyls. 1, 3,6 and 8 all jumping around from 1.5 to 3% at idle park and in drive especially after you rev the engine up. They stay at zero when crusing driving even when the engine is cold and running sloppy. I compare with 2 other units and the perdel readings stay at 0. Also buzz test and glow plug tests pass. I put in cyl6 injector and crank it with the oil and fuel plugs still out a little, install the plugs crank for less than a minute and starts and runs, smooths out and no smoke. Took it for a nice run and runs nice and smooth. Let it sit for a few hours and it started and ran fine and no white smoke. The next shift my boss tells me they can't get it running, i go over and attempt to start it and the it's hydrolocked and a giant poof of white smoke blew out of the tail pipe. After a minute or so it's running fine and smoke gone, drove it 16 miles and runs great. Now it starts up ok, blows a bit of smoke and then runs fine. The smoke smells like oil.Cyl. contribution code for cyl. 6 is back on cyl. ballance test and the perdel% readings are same as before. Also has a new cmp sensor. Also the o-rings on the old injector looked fine and new injector torqued. My boss finally ordered the deisel compression guage with all adapters from snapon so i can check this thing properly....Til then Any input on this, it hydrolocked cold, valve guides rings, bad injector caused this?? etc..... Please respond, thanks.
  8. Had a few crank no starts here with no dtc and fim was the fix.
  9. 08 Escape has abs light on b2741-sensor cluster defective. Ws manual dtc chart says to replace the sensor cluster. Heres what i'm confused about, u1901 accompanies it. At first i figured it's from the defective sensor cluster. The pinpoint test m states other wise, as i go through it, test wants you to check the integrity of the 2 circuits between tyhe cluster and the abs module-thats a bitch to do considering what you got to do to do it. So i'm wondering if this pinpoint test only appies to u1901 by itself and not accompanied by b2741-or maybe i should go ahead and do the pinpoint test to rule out any other concerns. It's just painful getting that abs module connector off. Any recomendations?
  10. I've only done a few. The first was an 05with low mileage and they all cameout fine. The few others-on a tip from another tech, fill the wells up with pb blaster and let run for 20min. to 1/2 hour, let it sit for a while and they come out.
  11. Just texted my snapon guy-hopefully it will be waiting for me sometime next week.
  12. Did you guys see the new ipr socket for the 6.0? It's in snapons's heavy duty mini catalog, page 4. Part# s6190. Pretty cool.
  13. Oh, i think the 09 have a butterfly valve in the plenum
  14. intake manifold related, possibly a concern with the imrc??
  15. just take the left engine mount out, very easy. Make sure you remove the stud and the engine mount will slide back easily when you jack the engine up a bit.
  16. how about the post when all injectors need replacement after changing blown coolers?
  17. I dont know how to make a link to the post but if you go back a few pages you will find a post about just this.
  18. All good now, new harnesses and ebp sensor tube replacement(tube twisted-from engine instalation) repaired concerns. Then after all that it threw 2 injectors, one on each bank and it's a reman.
  19. Well i found out that was not the problem. This is an 08 and they sent me 7a2z-2c219-e and i had the hotline engineer run the vin, he said thats the wrong module and not to put any thing with the 1st# of the prefix that is lower than the year of the vehicle, but thats what the dealer came up with when they ran the vin. I told the engineer that i think this module is for a hybrid because u1900 keeps coming up thats for abs module comunications error hybrid only and rcm comunications error for all escapes. Also it keeps giving a steering angle sensor code and a brake boost solenoid error code and 2477. I dont see any steering angle sensor on the rack or on the colemn and don't show in the ws manual as well, plus the steering angle sensor and boost solenoid dtc's are not on the dtc list in the abs section of the ws manual. Also the steering angle sensor pids are in data logger but all show like an open circuit or if the plug is off. The engineer thinks the module is for a highbrid but he don't know for sure, i can't run the part# because ford fleet don't have that function. Well looks like i'll be switching the module out again when we get the right one-yea!
  20. Module is in now and it comunicates, though i can't finish configuring the module. After i put the as built data in the ids says module configuration complete. Then i do ivd initialization-but the ids does not ask to turn the steering wheel lock to lock and it only takes like a second and the ids says ivd is complete. The abs lt. flashes now and the trac. lt. stays on also there's a module configuration error code, boost solenoid code and steering wheel sensor code. Well i found out that because our ids is running at 66.15 and needs to be at 69.02 in order to properly install pmi modules. I could not update the ids the other day when the vehicle was there because our internet was super slow. I tried to inhale the data out of another 08 and exhale it into this one but it did'nt work-i done this before with a pds a few years back on an explorer cluster and it worked.
  21. Yea, you got to love the high speed stuff like when you get one of those guys with a navigator who drives to florida alot complaining of a brake chatter above 80mph- i tried the i aint gona drive that fast to verify the complaint for obvious reasons, well lets just say i was given a choice.
  22. My last service manager when i worked at the dealer was notorius for having techs pull warning bulbs out of clusters on used cars-at all the dealers he worked at so i was informed. He would throw his chair across the room and flip if he hears the cluster is tamper proof. I bought my last vehicle off him, the check engine lt., abs lt. and airbag lts. were all set on but the bulbs were pulled out.
  23. The last 2 04's that i did i did'nt replace the discharge tube o-ring because i droped it and could'nt find it bcus i'm a blind bastard. Good thing when i droped them i did'nt pick the old oring off the discharge tube. All the 04 pumps i replaced had repeat ipr replacements like 6 months later for intermitant crank no start concerns, being the screen separating.
