up in the NWT I changed a WHACK of those securilock interface dealys, and have NEVER changed one before going up there. Maybe the extreme cold screws 'em up

I might roll into town a little later than I want to, I am aspiring to be the hell out of Hay River by noon or so, so that would bring me into SL around 9 or so, roughly. I will give you a call when I get close.

OH NO, I got something MUCH more fuel efficient. An 08 F350 with a 6.4 **turn sarcasm off**

Got 'er saved in the phone, Jim. It shows 857KM from Hay River to Slave Lake, so SL will likely be my night-stop for day 1. That your home line? I'll talk to you tomorrow. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

So a number of you fellows know that I moved to Hay River, NWT to work at Kingland Ford, Diavik Diamond mine, etc. etc. I have decided after a lot of thought to come back to my home turf, in Ontario. So I set up the GPS for SL FORD SALES as my FIRST STOP. Anyone that wants to meet up for a beer or a coffee or offer me a driveway to sleep in, PM me your info. I am leaving the Northwest Territories tomorrow.

I am with Larry on this one, I would go with the adjustable caster/camber plates as well..as 'UGLY' as they are LOL /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif I imagine it would be pretty time consuming to grind that out enough to correct the caster as required. Just my .02

At the St. Thomas Assembly plant (Crown Victoria, Town Car, Grand Marquis) if you went in there, there was a room as soon as you entered, with a tray so you could leave your resume there. Most of the guys that work at St. Thomas get in from family connections, and a girl I know got a student placement there one summer, and was making $24.50 an hour. She said on fridays, on the night shift, there was a 'pizza party' with all the night shift employees, and she grabbed a bottle of sprite from the cooler that was supplied, and it was heavily laced with booze. A friend of mine's wife worked there as a security guard during renovations, and said the amount of fires caused by little hidey-holes set up by workers that left their lamps on or whatever was unbelievable. She would find places behind machines, and under stairwells with complete matresses, magazines, alarm clock, the whole nine. She told me that there was a guy that LIVED in the plant because he didn't have an apartment/house for almost TWO YEARS.

That's a big +1 from me, too. -
08 pass exhaust manifold leak

AFAIK, I don't think you can get paid for something unless the WSM tells you to do it, which in this case, sounds like it is not a great deal of fun. -
The dealer I was at in London, we were sending the manifolds out to a machine shop to have them acid cleaned when they were carboned up like this, as opposed to replacing the manifold. Seemed to work pretty well! EDIT: I had the exact same situation you are dealing with on a short school bus. Sucked the big one.

Almost started to like the 6.0
Aaron replied to zx5chris's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
We had a 6.4 at the last shop I was at, showed 10-12 percent loss on #2 cylinder. Mechanical compression test didn't even flick the gauge. -
This reminds me of a gentleman I know, named Bindar Dundat. My question is, WHERE THE HELL DO THESE FUSES GO? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif

Using pipe threader to remove cab bolts
Aaron replied to slim's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
I heated up the bolts till they were glowing, then wound them past the loctite by hand, once i felt it 'give' per se, I used my 3/8 air ratchet. This was on a fairly new truck though...so we will see how the rust belt treats us in a year or two. -
Okay, I'll admit it. I have an 08 F350. It was doing some wild and wonderful things with the trans, cruse was hunting up and down, and whatnot, and there was a TSB for it. 07-17-3. Couldn't find it ANYWHERE. Couldn't even locate the number. So I reflashed the truck. The current calibration that I put into my truck DID NOT reflash the TCM, only the PCM. However, the transmission issues are gone. I know I know, i get a slap on the pee-pee for not following ma Ford's instructions....

My favorite in recent memory was an air-ride module diaged by another tech, that I had the honor of putting in, on a towncar. So I slam the module in, and guess what? The air ride still doesn't work! Fuse for the air ride is blown. I grow quickly tired of having to re-diag shit at work, (USUALLY FOR FREE)and thats seemingly everything that happened at the dealership I used to work at. One particular tech was having some vibration issues with a vehicle, and we discovered that it was 6 litres overfilled with oil. And he did it again. Shlep and I figure he wasnt draining it before he was re-filling it. Senility's a bitch. Ah well. There are so many stories from that shop.... "Ahh...I see the fuck-up fairy has visited us once again!" seemed to be a fairly common refrain from my corner of the shop. An how come you aint on MSN, Mike?!

I wouldn't warranty U-Joints in that truck, for sure! But it's certainly no reason to deny the guy his warranty if his power windows quit working or something.
-
Pfft. Mine still says Performance Ford, and I work at Kingland Ford in the NWT. For now.
-
HoooooLAY! That's outta control! What if you put the boom down the opposite way, towards the rear of the truck, with stands under it? I know that would likely screw your whole shop for space though. What's wrong with the engine?
-
Yeah, mine wouldn't run either. Blew #74 fuse as soon as you put a new one in. I ended up running the electric motor, like you said. Good planning on their part. The only question I have, is it seems to be wired into the truck somewhere. Where does it go? What turns it on?
