  1. Why didn't you just price out a complete 12B637 engine harness assembly? You'll be shocked at how dirt cheap it is.
  2. I never seem to have a problem with the CMP sensor wiring. It's the CKP sensor wiring that pisses me off the most, fighting with the A/C compressor to access. Especially being a no-start causing circuit, I make damn sure to have it clipped to the block at all the factory locations. I refuse to mangle it in any way, due to the high potential for a comeback.
  3. Does it restart after reaching operating temperature?

  5. Just like HE was "bad"?
  6. That "baby-dangling" incident couldn't have helped his popopularity much. ......are any of you sick of hearing all his songs on every friggin' radio station, television channels, and every other possible media outlet yet?

  8. YOU, are the last person I would ever have expected to make that statement.
  9. Last two of them I did, were RETAIL. WOOHOO.
  10. This is why I posted this question. I was kind of hoping one of you fellow US techs would be able to post the contents in Spanish from your fmcdealer site.
  11. That was my first thought. However, when using an online translator, I've been told that the "translated" version becomes nothing but a useless salads of words that make absolutely no sense. I thought that maybe, the documents would be available in English, French and Spanish, and that I just wasn't aware of how to navigate to the appropriate links to obtain it.
  12. Does anyone here know of where I can access FSAs translated in other languages, more specifically 08B07? I have a guy coming in tomorrow, who speaks Spanish mostly, and I don't feel like trying to explain to him what his truck will do after the reprogram, so if anyone can post a link to the owner letter translated, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    6.0L Parts

I know. I've already done one. More work for less pay. Hooray.
  14. Interesting how the photo illustrates the use of this tool to pull the hub and bearing assembly out of an '05 and up 4x4 truck. I could always flip an old brake rotor around backwards and secure to the hub with two nuts and smack the shit out of it. Off course doing it by the aforementioned method and the method illustrated in the photo risks damage to the hub and bearing itself.

    6.0L Parts

Just playing around today. I notice that FICMs have changed up from 4C3Z-12B599-AARM to 4C3Z-12B599-ABRM. Both are good numbers but the ABRM is cheaper than AARM. What gives? Also noticed the STC fitting kit changed up from 4C3Z-9B246-C to 4C3Z-9B246-D. Onto oil coolers, I notice that 3C3Z-6A642-AA has changed up to 3C3Z-6A642-BA, and 3C3Z-6A642-CA is just the core that we all know about and just absolutely love. Yet, NONE of the three are available locally. WTF?
  16. Thanks for the response guys. Yes, Bruce you were right once again. I managed to get the truck restarted after it cooled down somewhat. Sure enough, a little wiggling of the IPR valve and the connector caused it to quit. Thank God this was an easy one to pinpoint. I haven't wrenched on a 7.3L in a coon's age.
  17. Have one here, brought in by another garage. Truck starts and runs fine. Only DTCs are P0340 and P1212 CM. IPR duty cycle is about 10% at idle with engine up to operating temperature. Took it for a road test, as I rounded the corner, the thing crapped out on me before I could get it back to the shop. Attempted to restart, and ICP only gets to as high 170 to 180 psi. Wouldn't stay running even with a "Brake Clean" start. Just getting a heads up. What is the deadhead ICP I should be seeing with both blockoffs installed?
  18. '04 F-250 that an outside "garage" replaced a FICM and butchered up the connector bulkhead to cylinders 1, 4, 6, and 7 in the process. '04 F-250 that I'm chasing an intermittent stalling and dying randomly that I haven't been able to duplicate with the customer present yet. '02 F-550 brought in by another "garage" that quits if you rev up to 1500 RPM.....
  19. I couldn't agree more. Last week a 2005 E-350 rolled into my store complaining about a lack of power. This vehicle had well over 200,000 and change on the clock. Apparently, he had already been to TWO other dealerships (in the greater Toronto area that I won't post) before rolling in to my store. Dealer #1 replaced a MAP sensor. Dealer #2 replaced the turbo and VGT RETAIL and didn't fix the problem. When I get it, I notice that EBP readings are way out to lunch to start. The thing would barely run past 2,000 RPM. And yes, sure enough, it looked like the turbo was replaced yesterday. It took me all of 20 minutes to determine that the cat was plugged. It's amazing how fast guys jump the gun. Let's get one thing straight. I don't and WON'T proclaim to be the best tech, or even a good tech (at least I probably won't ever get anywhere even close to as good as Keith, Jim and Dwayne anyways). But at the very least, if I'm going to make a call on a $1500 dollar part RETAIL, I sure as hell would like to be 100% before I make that call.
  20. Got on in this afternoon. An '07 E-450 with 145,000 kms. brought in by an area "garage" with a complaint of no power. After being dropped off, and an RO written, I go for a little rodeo with it, that became immediately evident that this thing just falls flat on its face as I try to acclerate. Ren and Stympy (the two guys that dropped it off) "diag" it as a faulty turbo. I check the airflow restrictor, and sure enough it's bottomed out. Removed the air filter, and although it didn't look like it was overly dirty, took it for a drive without the air filter. And voila, instant power!!! I would've thought this would be one of the FIRST things these guys would've checked. An appointment was made for this other truck to be brought in to diagnose a no-start on an '04. Apparently, the CAA tow truck driver redirected this guy to HIS "garage" to fix, because we are "stealerships". Said garage replaces the FICM (that they bought off our parts department this morning). Unbeknownest to the "garage" that it needs to be programmed. So, in it rolls on the hook at 6:00PM today (after we were already closed at 5:00PM), I get paged to program the FICM to help this guy out, so he can at least have his truck back. Programmed the new FICM (that they installed), and go to start the truck, and what do you know? We have this thing not firing on cylinders #1, 6 and 7. And they charged this guy $995.00 parts and labour, that didn't fix his truck. That's it. rant over.
  21. There's no feeling better than being the one responsible for throwing an egg on someone's face is there?
  22. '99 to '04 style hub seals are easier to reinstall. '05 and up are impossible to remove without destroying.
