  1. Got a '99 E-450 with 185,000 kms. on the clock. Complaint is a hard-start cold (as per thread topic). Last this vehicle was here, was in May of '08 and less 2,000 kms. ago. Customer's description is that it needed a boost to the batteries, and a "temporary alternate fuel source" to get it started. Already had to new batteries replaced on the last visit. IDS test reveals very good loud "CLICKIES" on all eight, on the buzz test. Glow plug system appears to be functioning as needed. I'm getting hard faults for P0470/P1298/P1293/P1294. Engine started fine for me. Runs actually quite smooth. Just looking over PPT KA1 and NA20. I got a high EBP reading @ KOEO and noticed the oil seems on the thick side. Sooooooooo, I'm gonna be quoting an EBP and an oil change to 10W30 to start. Both the high side feeds (PK/YE and OG wires from IDM to VC) to both banks appear intact. Anything else I should be looking for? Like I said, the engine doesn't skip a beat at all when it's running, so I'm hesitant to be quoting an IDM. But that doesn't explain the above mentioned hard faults. TIA
  2. You can also get the unison ring separately now too, according to SSM# 20607. The part number is 3C3Z-6C885-A.
  3. mchan68 = disgruntled. What? Are you going to be joining the party too Larry?
  4. Saw that. I'm just waiting to see the cheap shot response this fucktard is going to throw at you. I don't think you'll be getting banned. This isn't inford we're talking about here LOL.
  5. I find that to be common on '06 and up model years. I've never encountered that on 2005 model years yet. Did you do the STC update?
  6. Well, it looks like Aaron and myself have already riled him up pretty good. Care to join in Jimbo?
  7. ...and do you actually get PAID for that time? What about the time YOUR bay is disabled with the cab up in the air? Or what about the time it takes you to drop the cab and push the damn thing outside while you're waiting for authorization? Sorry for the rant and hijack.
  8. This guy appears to be a real piece of work Aaron. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
  9. Yes, indeed it was. It appears TRUFRIEND (aka SELLC) has been banned yet again. Apparently, he's been in there stirring up shit again. You want to get a good laugh, go visit http://autotrend.activeboard.com/. I can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading in there. And this guy actually customers?
  10. Looks like our "friend" TRUFRIEND has been banned as well. Man oh man, this guy must have true talent for making enemies very quickly.
  11. Every one that I've had for that very code has resulted in a successful repair with a fuel pump replacement. HTH
  12. 2.8 hours to r & r the turbo + 0.7 hours to r & r the pedestal + 1.0 hour to r & r the unison ring. Those are WARRANTY times from Ford.
  13. Kind of reminds of the same scenario that almost played out when I had a no-crank no-start that needed EGT_13 replaced. NOWHERE in the PPT test, OASIS, T.S.B. or S.S.M. does it indicate that a problem with this circuit (amongst other issues) will cause a NO-CRANK/no-start.
  14. Is this job retail? If so, quote a new turbo and VGT. This way if there are issues later, it will be FoMoCo warranty on the parts and labour, NOT Frank Jubainville warranty.
  15. You don't know if you would call this guy shady? Then tell me how in the hell a guy that brings his truck in for a repair ends up with a $12,000 "repair" bill resulting in the loss of his truck? Jesus Christ, a used 6.0L engine doesn't even cost that much!!! I definitely agree that this guy sure didn't know much about diagnosing 6.0Ls, or diagnosing ANYTHING for that matter after reading through his posts. I'll even go a step further and say that I don't think this meatball has any business even TOUCHING vehicles PERIOD.
  16. ....actually Larry, it looks like he's in YOUR neck of the woods by the looks of things. Where is Canton Michigan? Can you actually find out if this guy is still in business? To tell you the truth, after reading through the posts last night, it lit fire under my ass enough, that I would actually be willing to help the poor owner of this truck to sue the guy to get his truck back!!!
  17. Those of you who have the time, have a read through the link below: http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/6-0-mot...e-no-start.html I couldn't believe what I read in this thread. If I understood the contents, and ICP sensor and connector would've fixed this guy's truck.
  18. Are you sure it's excessive regen, or a customer perception concern, since the update now alerts the operator when regen actually occurs?
  19. Never mind. I just found out that the basic part numbers are different for manual A/C and EATC. The number I got is 6C3Z-19E624-AA. Thanks for trying Larry.
  20. I asked the customer for the VIN so I could see if I could obtain it through HVBoM. He didn't have the VIN handy at the time.
  21. ...which is all good when your shop actually HAS a Chilton or Mitchell manual. Our manual only goes up to 2002 model year vehicles. I have brought this to my SM's attention NUMEROUS times and he has failed to to provide us with an updated one. I probably don't see nearly as many diesels floating through my shop as most of you here, so the likelihood that a new manual will arrive at our doors are slim to none.
  22. I have a customer here that received the wrong part. His vehicle is equipped with EATC. Microcrap only lists part number YH-1697 (4C2Z-19A706-AA) for this vehicle, which looks to be for vehicles equipped with manual heat/and A/C. Can anyone of you parts gurus find me the correct part number? TIA!!!
  23. Just curious Aaron, what are YOU charging to replace it RETAIL?
